Measuring Impact and Having Impact are not always the same thing. On the occasion of the honorary doctorate to Paul Gertler, one of the world’s best known researchers on impact evaluations in health, RGHI co-organizes a one-day seminar on state-of-the-art questions around evaluating health financing strategies and health impact.
A crucial ingredient to arriving at universal health coverage is rewarding health providers for delivering good quality care. Experimental and non-experimental evidence on innovations in the financing of health care and the remuneration of health care providers is accumulating. While experiments provide the most convincing evidence on impact, they are seldom feasible to examine questions of health systems design, most relevant to policy makers. Can we bridge that gap? With a.o. Paul Gertler (University of California, Berkeley), Manoj Mohanan (Duke University), Marcos Vera Hernandez (University College London), Winny Yip (Oxford University), Adam Wagstaff (World Bank) and iBMG colleagues Eddy van Doorslaer and Ellen van de Poel.
The symposium will be held at the Erasmus Paviljoen, Woudestein, is open to all, but registration is required.
