Maarten Kok MSc (ESHPM)
I work as a researcher at Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (Erasmus University Rotterdam) and Kingston University London and as Health Strategy Advisor to the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation. My main research interest include strategies for enhancing the societal contribution of research, including priority setting, research system development, impact and valorization assessment and knowledge translation strategies, with a specific focus on complex health issues and challenging situations such as post-conflict and low-income countries. I have a background in public administration (cum laude), epidemiology and biomedical science. I have conducted research and consultancy work for various governments, NGOs, intergovernmental organizations and multi-national companies and published several book chapters and articles in journals such as Lancet, Social Science & Medicine and Health Research Policy and Systems.
