RGHI pushes innovations debate during Capetown Health Systems Global Conference on “People-centered health systems”

On September 30, 15-17h, RGHi will co-host the special session ‘Disrupt in Order to Sustain’ during the global health systems research conference in Capetown, South Africa. Together with the Netherlands Platform for Global Health Policy and Health Systems Research we will address the key innovations which are urgently needed to advance global health much more structurally. 2nd Global Health Systems Research Symposium in Beijing: new aspirations for research on health reform and universal health coverage

The 2nd Global HSR Symposium which took place in Beijing from October 30-November 3, 2012, turned out to be a very stimulating event. Over 1750 participants from all continents gathered to explore the pros and cons of the latest health policy trend: Universal Health Coverage. Those of us who still remember ‘Health for All by the Year 2000’ may have wondered what was new, but five great plenaries and almost 200 break-out sessions made clear that the global health research community is vibrant, critical, and willing to take on new methodological and policy challenges. The congress also saw the launch of a new Society ‘Health Systems Global’. RGHI participated and helped chair a number of sessions.
